I think it will be definitely possible, but I don't see happening in this timeline. If you look what is happening with artifficial intelligence and wireless technology, it is a not far fetched idea at all. Few years ago I read that there is some kind of worm in forces which can actually make ordinary man acts as zombie. I know there were a video on youtube when man came to doctor that had pains in his hands, and they initially haven't find him anything when looking on CT scan, however upon the close physical analysis , they took out needle type implant. It was coated in special material, so it would not be detected.
